President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has signed a bill establishing the Federal University of Environmental Technology in Ogoni, Rivers State.
The announcement was made on Monday by Bwala Daniel, Special Adviser to the President on Policy Communication.
In a statement, Daniel expressed the President’s commitment to addressing historical inequalities and fostering balanced growth across the nation. “I am pleased to inform Nigerians that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assented to the bill establishing the Federal University of Environmental Technology, Ogoni, in Rivers State,” he said.
The establishment of the university aligns with the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope agenda, which emphasizes creating inclusive institutions to promote equitable development.
Daniel highlighted that this decision follows the recent approval of a federal university in the Southern Kaduna district of Kaduna State, further underscoring the administration’s dedication to unity and progress.
“To President Tinubu, there are no minority ethnicities in Nigeria,” Daniel stated. “He believes in the opening stanza of our national anthem, which states that though tribe and tongue may differ, in brotherhood, we stand.”
