Video: Salome Adaidu Murder: I Don't Regret Killing Her, She Was Cheating on Me - Timileyin Ajayi Confesses

The Nasarawa State Police Command has remanded 32-year-old Timileyin Ajayi at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Lafia for the horrific murder of his alleged girlfriend, Salome Eleojo Adaidu, a 24-year-old National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member serving at Nicon Insurance in Abuja.

Salome was gruesomely murdered during a visit to Ajayi’s residence in the Papalana area of New Karshi, Karu Local Government Area, Nasarawa State. Authorities apprehended Ajayi on Sunday, January 12, while he was allegedly attempting to dispose of her dismembered remains.

Ajayi, who was paraded at the Nasarawa State Police Command headquarters, admitted to the killing in a chilling confession, citing jealousy and distrust as motives. "I killed her because we don’t have each other all the time. It wasn’t planned, but I found out she was cheating on me. I saw her chats with other men on her phone. That’s why I decided to do it," he said.

When asked if he regretted his actions, Ajayi shockingly responded, "No, I don’t have any regrets. Life is reciprocal. If someone hurts you, you hurt them back. That’s how life is. She didn’t understand what I was going through, so I put myself in a position to teach her a lesson."

Ajayi also disclosed that the crime was not premeditated, emphasizing that it was a spur-of-the-moment decision triggered by emotional distress.

Salome’s family has expressed profound grief and disbelief over the incident. Her elder sister, Esther Adaidu, rejected any claims of a relationship between her sister and the suspect, demanding justice. "We don’t know this so-called Timi. He murdered and dismembered my sister. Justice must be served," she said tearfully.

The victim’s uncle, Samson Adaji Adaidu, described the brutal nature of the crime. "He butchered her into over 50 pieces and packed the remains into polythene bags. It was horrifying, as if he was preparing the body for consumption," he recounted.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, assured the public that Ajayi would face the full weight of the law. "Investigation is ongoing, and the suspect will be charged to court for prosecution. Anyone with further complaints against him should come forward," Nansel said.

Ajayi, who initially claimed to be a gospel singer, revealed during the investigation that he is a cryptocurrency trader. He remains in custody as investigations continue.
