The University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) has announced the indefinite suspension of the 2024/2025 First Semester Examinations due to an ongoing industrial dispute involving four labor unions: SSANU, NASU, NAAT, and ASUU. This was revealed in a circular issued by the university’s Registrar, Victor E. Ene, dated January 22, 2025.
The management expressed regret over the disruption, acknowledging the inconvenience caused to students, staff, and other stakeholders. The circular emphasized that efforts are underway to resolve the issues with all parties involved to restore normalcy at the institution.
According to the circular, the examinations will be rescheduled, and an updated timetable will be communicated as soon as the situation improves. The university appealed to all stakeholders for their understanding, patience, and cooperation during this period of uncertainty.
“Management is committed to ensuring that examinations resume as soon as possible and urges everyone to remain calm and supportive of the ongoing dialogue aimed at resolving the dispute amicably,” the Registrar stated.
