Police operatives attached to the Imo State Command on Saturday, January 4, 2025, rescued of four kidnapped hostages in Umuokanne, Ohaji LGA, Imo State.
Acting swiftly on a distress call, the operatives located the kidnappers' hideout and engaged in a fierce gun duel, neutralizing two of the criminals.
The successful operation saw the safe liberation of the hostages and the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, one magazine, and 21 rounds of live ammunition. The Nigeria Police Force remains resolute in its commitment to ridding the nation of criminal elements and ensuring public safety.
In a separate development on January 3, 2025, police operatives in Ebonyi State apprehended 17 suspects involved in the gruesome murder of Uromchi Okorocha in Enohia Itim village, Afikpo LGA. The deceased was accused of witchcraft-related killings by local youths. Instead of following due legal processes, the suspects took the law into their own hands, apprehending, killing, and burning the victim before police intervention.
