Former senator representing Cross River South, Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu has emerged the consensus aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the party's forthcoming governorship primaries in Cross River State.
GRASSROOT REPORTERS had reported that APC in the state had insisted on consensus, with a directive to all the governorship aspirants not to buy the Party's nomination form yet, as it was agreed by all the aspirants in a meeting, that only one governorship nomination form should be bought by the party.
The party, in the early hours of Tuesday, May 10, chose Senator Otu as its consensus aspirant in a meeting which was attended by all the aspirants.
The meeting which had in attendance, Governor Ben Ayade, and the APC Exco members, held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.
It was however not clear as of press time whether some aspirants, especially from the Central Senatorial District would abide by this arrangement.
GRASSROOT REPORTERS has gathered that Chief Chris Agara, a close friend of Governor Ayade, has already bought the party's nomination form.
Also, Senator John Owan-Enoh is rumoured to have bought the party's nomination form too.
