As Primaries of the All Progressives Congress draw closer, Prince Edwin Oliver Okon (ACA, ACIB), continues his Consultation across Calabar Municipality/Odukpani Federal Constituency.
The renowned Chartered Accountant, recently, met with the Forum of Ward Chairmen and Secretaries of Calabar Municipal Council. He noted that the constituency has not been right in most cases on the quality of persons voted into the lower house of the nation's legislative arm, which, according to him, has affected effective representation, adding that this has equally played in the delivery of democratic dividends at the grassroot level in the constituency.
It is against this backdrop that the aspirant assured ward officers of his commitment to bringing governance closer to the people through sound policies/laws and people-oriented projects.
In reaction to the consultative visit, Ward 2 Secretary, who also doubles as the Chairman of Secretaries, having known Mr Edwin for good number of years, his contributions and positive impacts recorded in the lives of constituents of both Calabar Municipal and Odukpani, endorsed Mr. Edwin for the Green Chamber as the process progresses, and urged his colleagues and other stakeholders to follow suit.
On his part, the Chairman of Chairmen charged the House of Representatives hopeful to restore the much needed confidence to the people through effective representation when he assumes office as the Honourable Member representing Calabar Municipality/Odukpani Federal Constituency in 2023.
The atmosphere at the meeting venue was elated with excitement that depicts the ecclesiastical notation of the coming of a Messiah.
Most of the stakeholders at the meeting agreed that truly, Mr. Edwin represents and possess the attributes of a Messiah in the political scheme of our generation, adding that he is awaiting legislative business in 2023 and will do it with diligence.
