Thugs & Hausa Residents Clash In Osun State, One Person Killed



 

One person was killed in Ede community when factional hoodlums clashed with some Hausa residents.


The clash led to the death of someone identified as Rasheed Olopa while others sustained various degrees of injuries.


The Nation gathered a group of hoodlums led by suspected assistant of a notorious land grabber had been terrorising the Sabo community of Ede.


But the head of the Hausa community, Gambo Ibrahim, was said to have reported the group to their leader, alleging his people were being robbed, extorted and harassed.


It was gathered that Rasheed Akiolu, the leader warned the other faction to desist from attacking the Sabo community but was ignored.


A community source, who pleaded not to be named, claimed Rasheed told the residents of Sabo to arrest Olopa and his boys whenever they attack them.


He warned that they should kill them because if they are handed over to the police they will be released in matter o hours.


Our correspondent gathered Olopa and his boys when to Sabo on Tuesday to rob and extort them but were repelled.


During the clash, three of the hoodlums were killed including the factional leader.


Seriki Hausa, Ede Community, Gambo Ibrahim, confirmed thugs clashed with Hausa traders at the sabo community.


“During the attack, four to five people were injured. we have not ascertained if anyone was killed.


” The thugs numbering five came to Sabo, they were shooting sporadically. Some properties were stolen and many destroyed.”


Confirming the incident, Osun police command spokesperson, SP Yemisi Opalola said some hoodlums invaded the Sabo community in Ede and seized motorcycles belonging to some Hausa residents.


“However, the people in the community resisted them leading to pandemonium in the area and in the process one person was killed.”
