The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Cross River State has asked all political appointees and civil servants who intends to contest in next year's election to resign within two days.
This was contained in a press release signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Erasmus Ekpang, obtained by GRASSROOT REPORTERS on Wednesday.
This may not be unconnected with the release of timetable for primaries by the party and in compliance with electoral act.
The statement read:
"This is to notify all serving Political Appointees of Government and Civil Servants with the desire to contest in 2023 General Elections, to as a matter of urgency send their resignation letter on or before 4:00pm on Friday 8th April 2022.
"They should also forward the acknowledgement copy of the resignation letter to the State Legal Adviser of the Party latest Monday April 11th, 2022 for proper documentation."
The party warned: "appointees and civil servants with intent to run who fail to comply with this directives, do so at their own peril."
