A researcher based in the United Kingdom, Engr. Dr Etete Obio has rated a businessman and frontline governorship aspirant in Cross River State, Engr. Ben Akak above other contestants jostling to take over from Governor Ben Ayade in 2023.
Engr. Akak, who is a major contender for the number one seat has received massive support from different quarters, with many calling on the All Progressives Congress, APC, to give him the party's ticket for governorship.
In an interview with newsmen, Engr. Obio, a Cross Riverian, asserted that continuity in governance should be a priority for any forward thinking society, adding that in the 21st century, wastage should not be accepted, hence, building and expanding existing project is what is needed in Cross River state.
He expressed strong believe that Engr. Akak would deliver the desired leadership Cross Riverians are yeaning for.
He said:
"Come 2023, we need someone that thinks in this direction irrespective of the person’s political affiliation. I think we have grown to the level where we should begin to develop some form of political ideologies. In the UK for instance, they have the Conservative, the Labour, amongst others. Each of them believe in something and I think each party should have an ideology and stick by it.
"I have been a keen and an ardent follower of all those aspiring to govern the state. Ben Akak appears to be the only person who is very ready for the Job based on his ideology.
"I don’t follow the the crowd. I take my time to learn about people and I hardly celebrate people. Ben Akak has demonstrated strong desire to take Cross River State to enviable heights.
Engr. Dr Obio listed some of the qualities that stands Engr. Akak out from other contestants to include:

He called on the people of the state to give him massive support as he's sure that Engr. will justify the confidence repose in him.
