Defection: Fear Not, You Didn't Break Any Law - APC Assures Ayade, Umahi, Others With Pending Cases

 

The Chairman, caretaker committee of the All Progressives Congress and Governor of Yobe state, Mai Mala Buni, has asked members of the party whose defection are being challenged in court not to fret.

Recall that the governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi and his Cross River State counterpart, Ben Ayade, are battling a court case arising from their defection from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the APC.

According to him , their actions did not contradict the law of the country.

He also said the party has about 41 million members, vowing that with it the ruling APC would remain in power.

He said, “Those who their defections are being challenged in court have nothing to fear. You have nothing to fear, your defections do not contradict any law. It will never be in vain.

“We have 41 millions members registered. The party formerly had 11 million. This provides the party an added advantage of wining election. Remain ruling party in the country and the largest party in Africa.”
