Photos: Ben Akak Foundation Engages Youths In Central Senatorial District of Cross River State


The Ben Akak Foundation has held an interactive session with youths from the Central Senatorial District to chart a way forward on the numerous challenges confronting youths in the area. The season availed the youths the opportunity to interface with the Foundation and brainstorm on ways they can be engaged meaningfully.


Coordinator of Ben Akak Foundation Youth House, Dr. Victor Ndifon said the essence of the youth houses in all the Senatorial Districts is to build human capacity by engaging the youths in skills acquisition empowerment program, and give succour to the poorest of the poor through scholarship schemes. 


Dr. Ndifon while highlighting some of the achievements of the youth houses in the past months commended the youths for sharing their plights with the Foundation and promised the Foundations resolve to ensure all their problems receive adequate attention. 


Views from the youths of the Central Senatorial District: Mrs Glory Takim from Boki said "we in Boki know you Engr Ben Akak is running for governorship therefore, you should not forget the health sector in Boki when you become the governor".


Hon. Cosmos said bursary activities in school had stopped a long time ago and called on Engr Ben Akak when elected as a governor to look into the issue of bursary in schools as he reaffirms that the youths in the Central Senatorial District are strongly behind Engr Ben Akak. 


Cross River State Youth Ambassador, Mr Eugene Ekure said the Central needs social amenities that Engr Ben Akak should focus on social amenities once he becomes the governor of the state.


One million youths for Ben Akak coordinator, Mr Hillary Ekpo talked about poor road network in some rural settlements, that Engr Ben Akak once he comes onboard as a governor, should work on it, that he knows what he Engr Ben Akak can do.


In an interview, Mrs Alice Erem Abung, the vice chairperson of Ikom LGA described Engr Ben Akak as a philanthropist and impeccable humanitarian who sees the heart of his people and responds to them promptly. Mrs Abung said the engagement tour is very apt as it has offered an opportunity for the youths to present their challenges to the Foundation. She said the empowerment and skills acquisition will help in reducing criminalities in the Central Senatorial District. She also lauded the zealousness among the youths to support Engr Ben Akak saying "it is about time Engr Ben Akak declares his intention" 


Pleased with all that the Chairman Ben Akak Foundation, Engr Ben Akak has done in the area, the youths are calling on Engr Ben Akak to declare his intentions as they the youths have unanimously agreed that Engr Ben Akak should run for Governor. The group made the call for Engr. Ben Akak to run at the Ikom Central Market during a rally.
