Hon. Dr. Edet Ekeng Effiom of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has defeated his closest rival, Ekpo Effiom Bassey of All Progressives Congress, APC, in the Akpabuyo State Constituency bye-election conducted on Saturday, February 26.
Dr. Ekeng scored 5,866 votes to emerge winner.
The APC candidate, Ekpo Bassey scored 5,363 while Labour Party's Okon Eyo Etim scored 76 votes.
