Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State has reappointed Senator Stephen Odey as the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
Senator Odey who represented Cross River North in the Senate for six months, was removed via a court judgment, which declared Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe as the authentic winner of the Peoples Democratic Party's primaries election, prior to the 2020 Cross River North bye-election which was won by the PDP
In a statement signed by the Deputy Press Secretary to the governor, Linus Obogo, Senator Odey's appointment takes effect from January 4, 2022.
The state read:
"The State Governor, His Excellency, Sir Ben Ayade has approved the reappointment of Senator Stephen Odey as Chairman of the State Universal Basic EducationBoard (SUBEB).
"His appointment takes effect from January 4, 2022.
"Senator Odey takes over from Mr Victor Omaga Odo, who has now been appointed the Director General of the Cross River State Revenue Generation Agency.
"Mr Odo's appointment also takes effect from January 4, 2022." The statement read.
