A former lawmaker who represented the Jechira Federal Constituency in Benue State between 2003 and 2007 has beaten her husband to a pulp, leaving the man in deep cuts and severe agony.
Hon. Sharon Aondona Daboh, on Wednesday evening descended on her husband in the most vicious manner, but it is not clear what triggered the latest showdown, except that the incident came a few days after the husband, Mr David Fiase Aondona, made a public post on Facebook alleging threat to his life, and asking the public to hold his wife responsible should anything happen to him.
In the post, Mr Fiase had accused his wife of trying to kill him via “domestic violence.”
The short post read “I can’t sleep. I am scared. I feel threatened by Hon. Sharon Aondona Daboh. If anything happens to me, she should be held responsible. David Fiase.”
But in a swift reaction, Mr Fiase has petitioned the Inspector General of Police and pleaded that the IG help prevent his wife from killing him, by ending the marriage as he’s not sure he’ll survive another of beating.
In the petition made by BIMA CHAMBERS, Mr. Fiase requested the dissolution of the marriage saying the “woman would habitually threaten to kill him by any slightest misunderstanding we had as a couple.”
The petition dated December 7, 2021 said the couple got married in 2017 but started having issues a year after which led him to flee from his matrimonial home for fear of being killed by his estranged wife.
Fiase further told the IGP that “sometime in February, 2019, he caused a notice of petition for the decree of dissolution of the marriage between him and his wife to be filed at the FCT High Court, but the case died following the death of the learned Judge whose court the suit was assigned.
He said he had been thro hell, and could die having received the worst beatings at the hands of his wife.
Regrettably, “while efforts were being made to serve his wife the court summons, Mr Fiase said he was kidnapped somewhere in Garki, FCT-Abuja, on the 24th July, 2019, by unknown persons, who stabbed him brutally in his face and neck, before toamssing him out of a moving vehicle, and left to die by the roadside.
However, he said survived the gory attack and thereafter made a formal complaint at the Garki Police Station.
Even at that, he said his wife kept assaulting and harassing and threatening to snuff the life out of him.
He said it was the basis upon which he sought an end to their union so as to restore his peace of mind and end the sufferings from the sustained psychological trauma which he said could take his life.
