Few weeks after the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC announced the various dates for the 2023 General Elections, a pro youth group given to Democracy and Good governance known as Cross River State Youths for Democracy and Good Governance has called on Cross Riverians from the Southern extraction not to take the People's Democratic Party serious, stating that the party has no plan to zone their ticket to the South
Uwase Esuong, Director General of the group, who spoke during an interview, said the People's Democratic Party in Cross River State is play chess with the South, therefore any smart and right thinking politician wouldn't take them serious. He questioned a situation where the leadership of the party in 2015 zoned the governorship stole exclusively to the Northern senatorial district and when its time to zone governorship seat to the South they are dilly-dallying.
"PDP is not a party to take to the bank, our brothers from the South in that party should have known this by now, the party is full of rots and garbages. There's no atom of trust and truth in them. In 2015 when we were at this same spot of indecision, the then Governor and leader of the Party, Sen. Liyel Imoke ensured power went to the North and he did it in such a way that no other senatorial district produced a candidate for Governor except the North."
"Today, we are at that same Cross Road and the same party is now talking about credibility and not zoning, who told them the South doesn't have credible and qualified governorship materials, who told them that credibility is an exclusive gift outside the South?"
"My brother, just watch out and see, PDP people deceiving people will come into into play in 2023. Between the 3 wise men plus Sandy Onor, Dansuki, it is obvious that people are deceiving people in the PDP. Either is it Donald that is deceiving Gershom or Vice Versa, or Imoke is deceiving Geshom and Donald with Sandy Onor or Dansuki or vice versa, you can't just trust that party"
"If you ask me, the future and destiny of Cross River State South is in the All Progressives Congress, that is where the South can actualize her vision for 2023, I will urge my southern brothers to take the right decision now while there's still time."
Esuong who is also the SSA of Cross River State Pharmaceutical Company, CALAPHARM, also said that his group with structures across the wards and units in the state is deeply rooting for the Southern agenda stating that, that is the best way to go for the sake of fairness, equity and balance.
