The Senator representing Cross River Central Senatorial District, Sen. Sandy Ojang Onor has formally declared his intention to run for the office of governor in 2023 gubernatorial election in Cross River State.
The Senator who is rumoured to be the preferred candidate of Rivers State governor and major financier of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, made his intentions known today in Calabar, in a stakeholders' meeting.
Many have argued that since the central and north have all taken their turns to complete the circle of rotation of the number one seat in Cross River, it would be grave injustice not to allow the south to take theirs this time.
But supporters of the Senator believes that all the zones have had their turn, so the new circle of rotation can start from any of the zones, hence the senator's decision to contest.
