Finally, Governor Ayade Suspends 14-Month Curfew


Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State has finally suspended the over fourteen months curfew imposed in the state.

The governor had imposed the curfew following massive destruction of public and private properties during the nationwide #EndSars protest.

In a statement by Mr. Linus Obogo, Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the governor, on Saturday, movement is no longer restricted in the state. 


The statement read:


"The state governor, His Excellency, Sir Ben Ayade has suspended the curfew in the state with effect from December 25, 2021.


"Consequently, movement is no longer restricted in the state at any time."
