Remember the girl who was wrongfully detained for four months for smuggling drugs into Saudi Arabia?
Yesterday, she completed her training as Assistant Superintendent of Narcotics (ASN) with Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
Zainab was set up by airport officials in Nigeria on her way to Saudi Arabia. A bag containing hard drugs was attached to her bag without her knowledge at Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano. She was arrested in Saudi airport after her bag was searched and the drugs discovered.
She was detained for four months and faced possible life sentence but for the intervention of the Nigerian Government. She was released after some airport officials in Nigeria were arrested and they confessed to the crime.
