Alleged rapist, Udoffa Divine Emmanuel |

A final year student of Faculty of Law, University of Calabar, Udoffa Divine Emmanuel has been arrested in Calabar for allegedly raping a job seeker, said to be a minor.
The suspect allegedly committed the crime in May, 2021 in a hotel he manages in State Housing Estate, Calabar Municipality.
Mr. Udoffa was arrested today, July 5, 2021.
He was earlier declared wanted by the Cross River State Police Command.
The suspect, who had first degree in political science, had allegedly placed a vacancy notice in front of the hotel he manages, Specs Hotel, and the victim applied.
On arriving the hotel for the supposed job interview, the victim was allegedly dragged by the suspect into one of the hotel rooms and repeatedly raped her.
Confirming the arrest of the suspect, the Cross River State Chairperson of Child Protection Network, an NGO handling the case, Barrister James Ibor said the alleged rapist is now in police custody.
He wrote on Facebook "Guess who is police custody?
"Udoffa, Divine Emmanuel, who allegedly raped a child. Gainfully employed, had first degree in political science "
Efforts by GRASSROOT REPORTERS to speak with the Cross River State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Irene Ugbo proved abortive as calls to her number were not answered.
