President Buhari Removes Akin Ricketts As NPA Board Chairman, Appoints Him As Member

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, replaced Chief Akin Ricketts as the Chairman of the Non-Executive Board of the Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA).


Chief Ricketts was replaced by Mr. Emmanuel Olajide Adesoye as Chairman of the Board. Mr. Ricketts, from Cross River State, South South Nigeria, was appointed as ordinary member of the Board by the President.


The President also approved the re-appointment of Hadiza Bala Usman as Managing Director of NPA for an additional five-year tenure.



The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina announced this in a statement.



Adesoye was the Chairman of the Board since 2015 until last year when he was replaced by Akinwunmi Ricketts.



Others appointed into the Board are Ekenyem Nwafor-Orizu, South-East zone, Ghazali Mohammed Mijinyawa, North-East zone, Mustapha Amin Dutse North-West zone, and Abdulwahab Adesina, North-Central zone.
