Following the spate of kidnappings and other violent crime that has continued unabated in Cross River State, President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the deployment of additional 1000 soldiers to the state to assist with internal security.
Kidnappers had been on rampage in the state in recent times, with no month passing without the state recording any incident of kidnapping.
Following the development, the Senior Special Adviser to Governor Ben Ayade on Media and Publicity said the state expressed appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari, the Defence Minister, the Chief of Army Staff, LT General Tukur Buratai, Chief of Defence Staff, the General Officer Commanding, 82 Div, Enugu and Brigade Commander, 13 Amphibious Battalion, Calabar.
