Two suspected armed robbers were yesterday, October 20, caught and lynched by angry mob at the junction linking Ikot Effa with Parliamentary Extension, Calabar, Cross River State.
Witnesses said that the armed robbers, who were four in number, had attempted to burgle a home at Parliamentary Extension but luck ran out on them as two of them were caught while two escaped.
Confirming the incident, the state Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Irene Ugbo, said “I am aware of the incident. It is a case of robbery. They were caught. We condemn jungle justice. No arrest has been made yet."
