The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) appeal panel for the forthcoming Cross River State North Senate by-election has disqualified the member representing Yala/Ogoja Federal Constituency in Nigeria's House of Representatives, Hon. Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe for dragging the party to court.
Hon. Jarigbe was earlier given a provisional clearance based on promises by him to withdraw the pending case he instituted against the party in a Portharcourt Federal High Court, but the panel said Hon. Jarigbe reneged on his promise to withdraw the case, hence his disqualification, which according to the panel, was in line with the provisions of the party.
A copy of the disqualification letter obtained by Grassroot Reporters stated that Hon. Jarigbe's action has exonerated the panel and proven that he has questionable character and such is not befitting of a member who wants to fly the party's flag at the
election.

The disqualification panel's report was jointly signed by its Chairman, Hon. Chief Omovie Dennis, Secretary, Hon. Timothy Golu and member, Mrs. Emilia Okonji.

PDP has fixed Saturday September 5, for the party’s primaries to produce a candidate that will participate in the bye-election that will be conducted by INEC on October 31.
