Confusion As NCDC Fails To Confirm Cross River State Covid-19 Positive Cases Announced By UCTH CMD


The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Friday, July 3, failed to confirm the 5 positive cases of Covid-19 in Cross River State announced by the Chief Medical Director of the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH).


The Chief Medical Director of University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH), Prof. Ikpeme Ikpeme had on July 3, 2020 in a memo, said 5 samples sent to the NCDC accredited Alex Ekwueme University Teaching Hospital, Abakiliki, Ebonyi State for testing returned positive.

But the NCDC in its daily data update did not mention the 5 confirmed cases by the hospital.
