Cross River State has been added to the list of Nigerian states that have recorded positive cases of Coronavirus.
According to the NCDC daily report for Monday, June 6, the state recorded 5 positive cases of the virus.
It is however not clear if the cases are for the ones reported by the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital last week or fresh cases.
Recall that last week, the Chief Medical Director of the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, Prof. Ikpeme Ikpeme said in an internal memo that 5 patient's samples sent to the NCDC approved Alex Ekwueme University Teaching Hospital, Abakiliki, Ebonyi State returned positive but this was yet to reflect in NCDC's data report.
This led to the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) embarking on an indefinite strike action, demanding that the positive cases be reflected on NCDC's data report.
