Coronavirus: Rivers State Issues Directive To Transport Operators, Keke To Carry 2 Persons, Buses 4 Persons


As part of measures to check the spread of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19), the Rivers State Government has announced restrictions on the number of passengers road transport operators should carry.

In a state signed on Sunday, the government directed that from today, Monday 23rd March, 2020, 14-seater bus should carry 10 persons including the driver and the conductor while Tricycle (Keke) should carry 3 persons including the driver. Taxi drivers have been directed to carry 4 persons including the driver while Suzuki bus should carry a total 5 persons including the driver.

The statement added that a special task force has been set up and will enforce and arrest offenders from today.
