Comr Awatt Anwakang has been elected the new president of National Association of Cross River State Students (NACRISS) Worldwide by a landslide margin.
The election which took place on Saturday at State Housing Field was peaceful as the the students organized themselves in an orderly manner despite initial fears of the election being disrupted by a faction of the students.
Announcing the result of the election, the Electoral Commission Chairman, Comr. Okono Moses said a total of 17 candidates contested for the election. For the office of the president, he announced Comr. Awatt Anwakang Eso winner with a total vote of 84 to defeat his closest rival, Comr. Empraim Bassey who scored 7 votes while Comr. Ulong Johnson came third with 5 votes. Comr. Arikpo Eyo recorded 2 votes while the duo of Comr. Coco-Bassey Esu and Comr. Emmanuel Duke recorded no vote.

For the office of the Vice President, Comr. Esther Uguru scored 56 votes to defeat Comr. Ayuk Bassey who scored 34 votes while Comr. Odey Agba Catherine scored 5 votes. Other winners included Egwu Daniel (Secretary), Markus Theophilus (Assistant Secretary), ThankGod Ekpunse (Financial Secretary), Nsopta Mark Nsoja (Treasurer), Ekpenyong Nkoyo (Director of Welfare), Patrick Eniemen (Director of Sports), Effiom Samuel (Director of Socials).
